Phlebotomy Work in the Charlottetown Area
Charlottetown is the capital of Prince Edward Island. The 211 Prince Edward Island directory lists Health PEI laboratory blood collection at six hospital sites across the Island: the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown, the Prince County Hospital in Summerside, Kings County Memorial Hospital in Lower Montague, Souris Hospital, Western Hospital in Alberton, and Community Hospital in O’Leary.
That list covers only the hospital sites Health PEI publishes. Clinics, long-term care homes, and other employers set their own training requirements, so ask them directly what they look for.
Regulation and job titles on Prince Edward Island
Phlebotomy is not a regulated profession of its own on Prince Edward Island. The College of Allied Health Professionals of PEI regulates medical laboratory technology, medical radiation technology, and respiratory therapy in the province. WorkPEI, the provincial employment site, groups phlebotomists and phlebotomy aides with medical laboratory assistants (NOC 33101), whose main duties include collecting, labelling, and preparing blood and other samples from patients. As of November 2026, WorkPEI lists no known training programs for this occupation on the Island. Employers set their own hiring requirements, so check each posting before you apply.

Employment outlook on Prince Edward Island
Job Bank reports provincial hourly wages for this occupation group of $20.00 to $35.74, with a median of $28.00, for 2023 to 2024. That range covers the whole occupation across all credential levels, including roles that require a longer diploma, so treat it as context for the field and not as a result of this program.

Figures are for the province, since Job Bank shows no economic-region breakdown for Prince Edward Island. This is occupation-wide information about the Prince Edward Island labour market and is not a statement about the outcomes of this program.

Getting to the lab day
The in-person lab day runs in Charlottetown, within reach of the neighbouring towns of Stratford and Cornwall and of the Parkdale, Sherwood, and West Royalty areas of the city. Because the theory portion runs online in the evenings, participants from elsewhere on the Island, such as Summerside or Montague, only need to travel once.
