Advanced Phlebotomy and Vascular Access Program

This is Medical Training Center’s preparation course for CPTG’s advanced phlebotomy and vascular access certification exam: 8 online classes plus 2 days of hands-on clinical training in Oshawa. Open only to regulated health professionals whose scope of practice includes IV therapy and vascular access. CPTG membership and exam fees are paid separately to CPTG.

Eligibility requirement: Must be in good standing with a Canadian licensing body.

Description

This program prepares regulated health professionals for CPTG’s advanced credential. MTC delivers the preparation course; CPTG sets the standard, administers the exam, and issues the credential. Completing this course does not by itself grant certification.

ELIGIBILITY: Registered Nurses (RNs), Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Paramedics, Physician Assistants (PAs), Naturopathic Doctors, Pharmacists, Dentists.

This program teaches and assesses clinical skills. It does not grant authority to perform them. Whether you may perform a given procedure in practice is determined by your own regulatory college’s scope of practice, which varies by profession and province.

FEES: MTC preparation course $1,800 + tax.
